"Relief and confidence. I wish I had this layer of protection beforehand, because it would have saved a lot of money. Now I tell everyone: get your stuff solidified and secured, because it will make a difference down the road."

Challenge
A lawsuit out of nowhere, and no clear path to compliance
Anabolic Aliens is an online fitness platform built by CEO and Founder Mike Rosa. The company grew out of a YouTube channel into a coaching, health, and wellness business serving busy professionals, frequent travelers, and parents in their 40s and 50s. Its Shopify site carries hundreds of blog posts and runs on SEO rather than paid ads, so the website is where the business lives.
For nearly a decade, accessibility never came up. No one had advised the team to think about it. Then a lawsuit arrived. “Legal and compliance concerns were the full reason we had to focus on accessibility,” Mike says. When he asked fellow Shopify entrepreneurs about ADA, very few knew it applied to them. Most assumed the platform handled it.
Mohit Singh, who owns everything technical at Anabolic Aliens from the app to the Shopify store, took on the problem. He went as far as taking a Udemy course just to decode the jargon, and free scanners like WAVE still left him guessing about what to fix first, what Shopify covered, and what the team owned. To show good faith during the lawsuit, Mohit logged every change in a Google Doc with manual screenshots, day by day.
The team first signed with another accessibility vendor, but communication and execution stalled. Then Rick Chavez from Patrol reached out by email. Mike took the demo and was sold on how simple Patrol made everything. Right after the call, he told Mohit to check it out.
"Even a single page would show so many issues that it looked so complex. And it was not just one page. There were hundreds of blogs. That was the first time in a technical field that I thought, I cannot handle this. This is too much."

Solution
A full service compliance layer that runs behind the scenes
Mike wanted one thing: “Handle compliance completely for us. I wanted you guys to do everything.” Patrol delivered. Installing the app took a minute or two, and full deployment took five to 10 minutes on a single onboarding call, with the Patrol team guiding every step. From there, Mohit took the lead, and Mike still joins a quick monthly call with Mohit and the Patrol team to deploy new accessibility fixes together.
The first scan produced actionable insights on that same call. For the first time, Mohit could see every issue ranked by importance and tied to WCAG AA requirements, with a plain language explanation, an example, and a preview of the exact element causing it. Deploy All then applied fixes across the entire store at once, hundreds of blog posts included. “This was kind of magical,” Mohit says. None of the jargon he had studied turned out to be necessary: “We don’t have any learning curve at all.”
Prioritization is no longer the team’s job. “We don’t need to prioritize it with you guys. It’s already done,” Mike says. Patrol monitors the site continuously, and new fixes go live on that monthly call. The manual Google Doc has been replaced by a documented history of remediation from day one.
After the ADA lawsuit, every compliance risk became a priority, and website privacy tracking under laws like CIPA landed on the radar at the same time. Anabolic Aliens had a privacy policy, but it was written to sound friendly, not to meet legal requirements. “We just had it because we had to have it,” Mohit says. Mike wanted the same thing from Patrol’s privacy product that he got for accessibility: “Full service. Take it off our plates.” Setup was just as easy as ADA. Within a day of the first scan, Patrol showed every tracker, pixel, and chat tool on the site and exactly what each one was tracking, organized by category on a single dashboard. Mohit knew which tools they had configured over the years, but not how many were actually running. Now the team sees all of it at a glance, and Patrol keeps up with the privacy laws so they don’t have to.
"The way you guys have laid it all out on a dashboard, with categories showing which thing is related to what, this is the first time we have dug this deep into this data and seen it visually."

Results
Relief, confidence, and a partner for what comes next
Accessibility went from an unknown liability to a solved problem. Patrol saved the team “hours and hours” of research, remediation, and legal learning. As Mohit puts it, keeping up with accessibility and privacy law “is itself an entire field,” and Anabolic Aliens no longer has to master it. Mike calls Patrol the most affordable option by far compared with the accessibility teams they evaluated, and says it reduced the company’s accessibility risk “massively.”
“Patrol has become an embedded part of our company compliance infrastructure,” Mike says. “You’re part of our team now.”
-
10 minutes to deploy Patrol across the Shopify store
-
2 in 1 ADA and privacy compliance handled by one partner
-
One call from install to actionable accessibility insights
With full confidence in their website, the team is already asking Patrol to extend the same coverage to their mobile apps.
"I recommend you guys to everyone, because a lawsuit like the one I got could really take out a small business. We had no clue we were doing anything wrong. It came out of nowhere, and it cost a lot of money to resolve. I really wish I met you guys before it happened."
